Squak Mountain Club, or SQM Club, is a global non-profit group with over one thousand members from various organizations to create a cleaner environment for the future by reducing carbon dioxide emissions. Named after Squak Mountain in Washington state, the club has deep faith in the moral obligation of individuals to safeguard the mountain and thereby do a lot of good for the environment. The club has the only goal to reduce co2 emissions in all walks of life by supporting individuals to monitor their carbon dioxide emission levels by providing the necessary tools, gadgets, and guidance. The steps taken to reduce carbon dioxide emissions help improve the environment and save costs. The club is keen to develop an environment-conscious culture among individuals by raising their awareness to control carbon emissions and ensure healthy living.

The role of SQM club

To set a realistic goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions at individual levels, the club assists the members with the tools, techniques, and guidance for closely following the carbon footprints of every individual. These might involve some simple exercises that help to gather all relevant emission data about that individual. The data reveals the correct emissions status at a certain point, which serves as the starting point and helps set realistic goals for reducing it. The club then guides the necessary lifestyle alterations that can help achieve the goal of reducing the carbon footprint. The club spreads its message to save the environment by motivating individuals to understand the damage they are doing to the environment and take suitable corrective measures for improvement.

The philosophy of the club

Organizations and individuals can become members of the club that believes that the preservation of the environment is an individual responsibility that can have a collective impact. Therefore, it should be the goal of every individual to play their part well in doing some good to make the world a better place for living for future generations. The club firmly believes that commitment towards the environment is crucial to generate awareness among individuals that can help to reduce co2 emissions. A committed group of volunteers will eventually have a great impact and help everyone to breathe cleaner air and pave the way for a healthier tomorrow.

A team with a cause

The club’s history dates back to the 1950s when a small group of nature-loving enthusiasts established the club to preserve the ecological balance and improve the environment of Squak Mountain. What began as an exercise in protecting the mountain gradually acquired wider dimensions as the clamor for improving the global environment gathered momentum over the decades.

The SQM team has a global presence with members spreading across the continents, with branches in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, China, Israel, Singapore, Poland, and India. The club is one of the largest environmental organizations in the world that work toward applying the SQM principles that help improve the environment and create a greener planet. The club provides training and guidance to its members to create greater environmental awareness and assist them in reducing carbon emissions by complying with the legal norms.

Leveraging the power of networking

The club’s journey over the seven decades has been fascinating as it moved from strength to strength to build a global network of volunteers dedicated to environmental causes with an eye on reducing the carbon footprint. The SQM 2022 is the result of intense networking among the global members of the club that benefits both individuals and organizations. The club provides plenty of opportunities for meeting new like-minded people ready to do something good for the environment with selfless dedication. The events organized by the club are the perfect occasions for learning about the latest developments while interacting with people from other countries and creating a more cohesive and committed group of environment volunteers. The interactions help organizations adopt the best practices for reducing carbon dioxide emissions while saving costs.

The ever-expanding network of environmental volunteers helps to expand the social network of individuals who make friends with new people and work toward creating a better world.

Expanding the outreach

While working toward sustainable development, the SQM community keeps expanding the opportunities within the community. The members reach out to more people ready to volunteer to improve the environment so that people can breathe clean air. The volunteers keep sensitizing organizations and individuals about the adverse environmental impact of the work processes and lifestyle and empower them with tools, techniques, and other resources to monitor their carbon footprint and devise ways to reduce it. Improving global air quality is the one-point agenda of the club. The club conducts educational programs and scientific studies to create more awareness about environmental hazards and possible remedies. The growing demand for green products and services bears testimony to the success achieved by the SQM community.

Keeping a tab on carbon emissions

Since carbon is the most damaging environmental element, keeping carbon emissions under control within the prescribed limits is the goal of SQM. The club maintains a huge carbon emissions database from various sources like automobile fuel consumption, mileage, and motor oil use. It also monitors HAB or harmful algal bloom that produces toxins at a given place and time, depending on certain environmental factors.

In its pursuit to promote sustainable products, the SQM club has developed a computer system for data assimilation and analysis that helps develop efficient strategies for carbon emissions. The club is partnering with several government agencies and private and public organizations to expand its outreach and global footprint. The club is open to everyone who wants to play an active role in saving the environment from the looming disaster caused by carbon emissions.
