Black Mirror Season 6 Review: Science Fiction Series

One of the most innovative TV series, the black mirror season 6. It is a science fiction genre anthology drama with 23 episodes. It is spread over five seasons with the latest launch of the sixth. The first episode was telecast on December 4, 2011, and over 5; the final episode was on June 5, 2019.

Created by Charlie Brooker, this series stars Annabel Jones and Charlie Brooker himself as the black mirror season 6 main characters. The other cast includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Hayley Atwell, Miley Cyrus, Cristin Milioti, Daniel Kaluuya, Rupert Everett, Jesse Plemons, and Hannah John-Kamen, among many other black mirrors cast who comes in different episodes.

Most of the black mirror season 6 episodes show the impact of technology and humanity’s obsession with it; leading to a horrifying future. The series looks scary because what it shows looks uncomfortably true.

Each episode has a unique story from the other and has different protagonists. All the episode has a different theme, and three episodes focus on how technology, the internet, and the modern world can lead the world into darkness. The first episode focuses on the present.

Black Mirror Season 6 – San Junipero

This episode is a pleasing exception, unlike the other episodes of black mirror, which are mostly depressing. It is set in a beach resort called San Junipero, where Mackenzie Davis falls in love with Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Smithereens

This episode shows the dangers of social media and how addictive it can be. Cab Driver Andre Scott waits outside Smithereens, an asocial media company, to kidnap an employee.

Striking Vipers

The episode shows two friends playing a video game where they get sexually attracted to each other, transfer themselves into their game avatars, and have sex inside the game.

The National Anthem

The show’s first episode shows the British Prime Minister played by Rory Kinnear. The episode is about a member of the Royal family getting kidnapped. The kidnapper demands that he release the victim only after the Prime Minister has sex with a Pig on live Tv. The episode shows how nobody controls information in the age of social media and the internet.

Nosedive

Bryce Dallas Howard plays the character in a society where people share daily conversations and rate them on a 1 to 5 scale. This affects everyone’s status in society; thus, nobody wants to offend anyone else.

Black Museum

In this episode of Black Mirror Season 6, the character of Letitia Wrights shows her visiting a museum that displays exhibits from some crime. Rolo Haynes character played by Douglas Hodge is the museum owner.

Arkangel

Parents can sometimes be overprotective towards their children, but in this episode, they go too far and implant a device in their children. This device lets parents know about the children’s locations and monitor their health.

Conclusion

The black mirror season 6 show is scary as it looks into the future where new technologies will be invented by humans and possessed by them.
